Software Engineer - QA

Caterpillar is hiring a Software Engineer - QA to drive quality engineering strategy and automation initiatives for its dealer-facing web application, Foresight. The role focuses on designing and maintaining robust test automation frameworks, ensuring broad test coverage, supporting CI/CD-based regression testing, and working with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable web solutions. The position requires strong experience in QA automation, web application testing, API testing and enterprise-scale software quality.

- Define and implement QA strategy aligned with product and organizational goals. - Design, develop and maintain automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium and RestAssured. - Use Java or Python for test automation. - Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, regression suites and reports. - Ensure functional, integration, API, end-to-end, performance and batch-job test coverage. - Perform defect triage, prioritization and root-cause analysis. - Coordinate test execution and regression cycles across development, UAT and production releases. - Perform web application automation testing. - Conduct data migration testing and validate large transactional datasets. - Perform API testing using OData, REST and SOAP. - Support automated regression through Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines. - Review automation scripts and enforce coding standards. - Prepare dashboards and test coverage reports. - Support upgrade-readiness testing and hotfix validation. Experience: - 4-7+ years of QA experience. - At least 3+ years in an automation-focused role. - Experience with enterprise-scale web applications. - Experience with cloud platforms and multi-application ecosystems. Work arrangement: - On-site five days per week. - Relocation support is available.
